At our meeting on 17 May 2023, Paul Atterton introduced 3 speakers from the Alzhei-mer's Society of B.C.

 

Jane's topic was "Help for today; hope for tomorrow!", a  very interesting lecture on the types and early signs of the various types of dementias that we see in our population.  She also discussed the types of support offered and available to families who have a loved one suffering from one or these afflictions.We were reassured that Alzheimers is NOT a normal part of aging.

 

Stephanie spoke about how all the support programs are funded, and the importance of donations, grants and legacies.

 

Laureen is new to the Society, and was learning all she could about her new endeavour1

 

The discussion was followed by a very healthy question period.
